Inaugural Exhibition by DAPR

Arthive is proud to present the first public viewing of works by DAPR. 

Paintings I found while moving is an exhibition showcasing extraordinary talent by a hidden artist.

It took some convincing but we got DAPR to agree to share these amazing paintings.

Curated by Jenna Gill, this exhibition is not to be missed.

INFINITE DECIMALS - "0.18232323..." album launch

Coming up on April 3, Melbourne experimental act INFINITE DECIMALS will launch their new album 0.18232323... in Newcastle at the ARThive, accompanied by live projections by Paul Rodgers. Also performing are local improvisers CRAB SMASHER, who will launch a new mini-album titled The doctor is in... over his head, and Sydney artist SCISSOR LOCK, who you may recall performed at our fundraiser show last July.

Line King

Line King is is an exhibition by Chris Brown, a local photographer and installation artist, featuring a collection of his latest black and white photographic works, and a large, detailed, geometric installation made of over 10 kilometres of string.

Tyes To The House

Tyes To The House is the latest exhibition of painted and illustrated works from Newcastle artist Shane Westernhagen.

Tyes to the House is a ghostland of animals and people that have lived, worked, and war'd together and ultimately, died together.

Tapes, Breaks, and Skinny Old Men

Tonight in the gallery from 7PM we have an evening of experimental noise, electronica, and sound art from local heroes Luke Hoskins AKA DRILLBIT and Michael Liestins AKA COCK SAFARI, with special guest from Brisbane, respectable sound artist Adam Park AKA UNIQUE OIL FREE AIR. To finish off the night, Adam Park and Michael Liestins may collaborate as ANAL CUM WOLF. Homemade CDs and Cassettes will be available to purchase. Entry is by donation.

Secret Santa

Secret Santa is the final exhibition for 2009 for the gallery. To celebrate Christmas and our first successful year of operation, we've invited all of the artists, performers, volunteers, and friends of Arthive to participate in a fun artwork exchange and open show. Works will be exhibited for the duration of the show and then gifted at random to other participating artists. It's not too late to be a part of the show, if you're keen, stop by and ask for a blank postcard!
